    Portugal is a country  located in  southwestern Europe,  bordered to the  north and  east by   Spain,   and to the west and south by  the  Atlantic  Ocean.     Portugal   is a  developed country and has the  19th    highest standard of living in the world. According to The Economist Intelligence Unit   ,     Portugal  is the  14th  most peaceful country in the world.  The word Portugal comes  from the  name of  the village of  Cale in  the Douro River valley.  It is guessed that  this word in  Greek  means  beautiful.      The village,  when it became  an important  port,  was named Portus Cale  in Latin, later Portucale  and later   Portugale ,  but     throughout history  this word refers to a small area  of land to the north. In   another sense  , Portus Cale is  shortened  to Porto,  Portugal’s second most important  city, full of beauty   ancient.

    Coming to          Portugal, we  can admire  all landscapes  from the vast   valley to the  vast sea.        Ancient architecture, or  modern cities  are ready to  welcome  visitors to visit.     Nowadays,  tourists    visiting Portugal   are increasingly  crowded because they  have realized  the  hidden  beauty in the middle of the European sky.

1. General information about Portuguese visas.

    Currently,   the  Portuguese Republic  does not have a representative   office  in Vietnam,  concurrent Ambassador  to Thailand.  The application for a   visa to enter   Portugal  is done  through  the   Embassy of the  Republic of Germany  in Vietnam.

When visitors enter  and exit     Portugal,   foreign nationals  are required to  have a  valid  passport, or other alternative  document  to  the visa  real accompaniment.

  – Visa applicants  must legally stay  in  Vietnam.

  – Visa  applications must be submitted as early as  3 months or  at least 15 days before the intended  date of travel.

 – The applicant must submit the  student in  person at  the Reception Office according to the scheduled appointment.   The     biological   data (10  fingerprints  and digital photo) is taken when applying for a visa.

– The application  is  considered   based on  the documents   provided by  the  applicant (     Incomplete documents may be refused  a visa).

 – When necessary,  applicants may  be invited to an  interview  and asked  to  provide  additional documents.

–  All  documents  in  Vietnamese must be accompanied by  a   notarized  translation into English.

–  All documents  must be accompanied by  translation and  originals for reference.   The  reception  room  retains only translations.

   –  Documents  and documents  must be A4  paper size,  documents  by fax and e-mail are not accepted.

2.  Basic  procedures for issuing a Portuguese visa.

– Complete the  form and sign your  personal  name, provide  02 photos of  3.5×4.5cm white background  (face area  accounts for 80% of the photo  area).

 – Passport  (with at least   2  blank pages, not older than 10 years, valid for      at least  three months until  visa  expiry).

–    Proof of  transportation (book  airfare, or other means  ).

–  Travel, health  and accident  insurance  (insurance   of at least €30,000) for the Schengen  area. 

–       Identity documents: ID card,  household registration book, marriage  registration.

– Proof   of employment  documents.

+ Business owner  ,   legal  representative  of the  enterprise: Business registration,   member confirmation,  tax payment  confirmation of the company…

   + Employees:   Labor contracts,  appointments, personnel  reception,  salary confirmation  ,   social  insurance.

  + For   students: Confirmation of the school’s  learning.

    + For  retirees:  Documents  proving  pension rights.

– Financial    proof   documents:  Passbook,   bank  account statement,  balance confirmation.

–         A statement  confirming  parental  authority for minor  children to  travel  without their  parents.

   – In some cases,  documents  related to relatives  (ID card,  birth certificate  of spouse, children) must  be submitted.

3. Detailed procedures according to the  purpose of entry into   Portugal.

  * Portuguese Visa  for Tourist  purposes.

– Letter of Invitation to  Guarantee:

 + From a     tour    company  in   Portugal  with legal   documents of the tour   company.

 + From 1  individual who is  a   citizen of  Portugal  or a  foreigner  residing  long-term  in Portugal: Provide  passport face,  accommodation facility   of the guarantor; Provide    documents     proving  employment,  income,  finance,   personal account statements;       Original and attested  family   composition  certificate of the name of the  guarantor,  issued by the city  of residence in   Portugal  .

–     Detailed itinerary  for the duration of  your stay  in   Portugal  and  Schengen  member  states.

– Documents  as proof of   stay  in   Portugal  (book hotel).

  – Proving  the   applicant’s bond   in Vietnam: Red book,  other income  proof documents.

* Portuguese Visa   for  Business purposes.

   – The original invitation letter of  the organization  or  business in  Portugal, make sure  that it includes  the  inviting     party’s details,  the  details  of        invitees, personal identity  details,  inviter list,  invitee address, contact information    ,  duration and purpose  of  stay      and  the person’s   relationship  with the   applicant, the party paying the  cost  of the  trip,  the trip   detailed itinerary.

 – Business registration of the inviting   company,  the  passport  of the person signing the invitation letter.

– Documents  as proof of   stay  in   Portugal  (book hotel).

– Business registration of  the company in  Vietnam, confirmation of tax payment.

– Account statement   of the company  in  Vietnam in the last 6 months.

– Decide on the   work  of the company whose personnel  are invited.

–   Documents proving  the   commercial relationship  between the 2 parties.

*   Portuguese visa   for visiting relatives.

– Original invitation  letter from the individual  who  is a   citizen in  Portugal  sponsoring   through  the  regulatory authority  of the  province/city  where  the sponsor  resides,       Please   ensure  that the  message includes  the  inviter’s details,  the invite’s  details, personal   identity   details, identity details              inviter  book, invitee address, contact information  ,  time and  purpose of stay,  and  invitee’s relationship with   the  invitee  , the party   paying the  cost of the  trip, together with  the inviter’s  passport   .

– Proof  of    employment,  income, finances,   personal account statement   ,  accommodation of the  inviter.

  –  Documents  proving   the relationship: Birth certificate  ,  Marriage registration certificate….

   –  Document as  proof of stay  in Portugal   of  the  invitee (hotel book) –  this document is not needed if the inviter  can prove  accommodation  to invite  the applicant.

  – Proving  the   applicant’s bond   in Vietnam: Red book,  other income  proof documents.

 Documents to  prepare for   a Portuguese visa  for tourism

• Business owner:  business  license,  tax payment receipt for the last 3 months  if  any (notarized).
• Employees:  labor contract, payroll for  the last 3 months, application for  travel  leave  . (  copy, with company hanging carpentry  ).
